The main purpose of this site is to present my research into my Ancestors and Family.

I have tried to avoid long lists of names and have concentrated on family groups and ancestral lines. I am trying to make it easier to navigate the site and I may produce an alphabetical list of names eventually. If you find any broken links or spot where a link is needed, please let me know.  Unless stated, all pre 1837 'birth' dates are in fact baptisms.
If you wish to search for a name, click on the search button above.

 A stile at Roystone Grange

My 7x great grandfather, John Roe was born in Parwich, Derbyshire in 1625. He was a yeoman farmer at Roystone Grange near Ballidon close to Parwich.

He married Anne Stubbes who is the grandaughter of Sampson Stubbes (see below).

In 1978, some human remains were found and this led to an archaeological dig revealing evidence of a Roman settlement. Details of a Roystone Grange trail  can be found online if you  click here.
